This last week has been full of visitors from out-of-town for the 4th of July holiday. A good friend of Debra Jane, Lu, and Cate’s (me) arrived on the 5th of July to celebrate the summer and to take care of family matters in Oklahoma City later that week. Her arrival immediately prompted festivities and time to talk and catch up with the old Circle of Friends. After a weekend of socializing it was soon time for Stacy Mae to return to Florida, so Debra Jane and I set out to take Stacey Mae out to dine.
Debra Jane selected the location for the evening and this Girls Night Out (GNO) event was in the Oklahoma City Midtown District a the R&J Lounge and Supper Club.
Located at 320 NW 10th Street Oklahoma City, Ok the Supper Club was the perfect setting for a low-key Girls Night Out on a Monday evening.
The small restaurant/bar was cozy, and classy, offering casual cool decor.
The menu was short and simple all while offering interesting and mouth-watering options from appetizers to burgers, to full menu hot plates. Debra Jane selected the relish plate which came with a variety of olives, cucumbers and feta cheese, artichoke dip and the most delicious pickled collard greens. I chose the bacon appetizer with blue cheese and some type of sweet glaze. YUMMY! The bacon plate was delicious!
In typical GNO style, Debra Jane selects a variety of menu options, with input from the rest of us, requesting extra plates so that we can share the tasting. The service provided by Rocky was every bit as good as the food and it made for the most enjoyable, chill evening.
The food, the service, and the drinks are more than worth the drive to locate this tucked away supper club in Midtown OKC. The happy hour drinks and specialty drinks were fantastic and the options made it very difficult to stop at one.
Always good to go with friends to create the opportunity for sharing and tasting!
I highly recommend the R&J Lounge and Supperclub for drinks after work, a girls night out, or for a dinner date with someone special. This social dining experience was delicious, smart casual, relaxing, and wonderfully Oklahoman.
